O for Olive
This is one of the blogs I follow and I just love the custom initials she makes. I've been meaning to order one for Olive.

baby esp
i've been using an app to keep track of everything Olive. I used to write down all her feedings with the times and how long she was feeding. It was more to keep track of how often she was eating cause honestly those first few weeks were a total blur and there was no way to remember how long it had been. I know they say you should just feed on demand (and I did that) but I'm also a total control freak and I needed to know that I was feeding her enough just to be safe. Anyways about two weeks ago I was looking through my phone for an app to keep track of this kinda thing and I came across Baby ESP. Um amazing! The thing I like about it is it times each side so you know where to start the next time. Sometimes both my boobs feel like they are going to explode so there is no way to tell where I left off. Plus it keeps track of poops, pees, naps, medicines, and sends reminders. Its been really helpful since she is on Nystatin and has to take it 4x a day and I always forget. Just keeps me feeling organized.

Last night was a rough one. After Olives 2:30am feeding she didn't want to sleep at all. Blake was up with her till about 4am then I guess she was quiet for a few min but then I was up with her at around 5 and then we finally got out of bed at 6:30. Nightmare. She kinda napped this morning but not really. I took her out to fashion island and she was ok. I mean she wasn't awful only cause I shoved a pacifier in her mouth the whole time. I sooooo didn't want to be that mom but I was. Oh well she rarely gets the pacifier so I guess it was a treat for her. It was nice to get out but it was a pretty quick trip cause she has been wanting to eat every 2 hours so that doesn't leave me much time to get out of the house. She went 3 hours while we were out which is why she was getting pissy. I didn't feel like feeding her there, still not comfortable with that. Plus an hour at fashion island is enough to make me annoyed and wonder what the hell I'm doing with my life. The dog in stroller to baby in stroller ratio is about even there. I'm all about my dog but that shit is wacky. Still trying to find my place in the OC.
Once we got home she went on full on meltdown mode. I think her stomach hurt and she was gassy. I don't think she has colic or anything but I think her tummy hurts occasionally cause after some feedings she is super pissed off and other times she is super calm and happy. I've been giving her gripe water when she gets cranky in hopes that will help. She is now sitting in her lamb swing smiling and laughing at the little mobile spinning around so I guess she is better.
In the last 2 weeks I had some friends visit and it was really nice but I'm still in such a weird place mentally. I'm not depressed or emotional like I was when I was pregnant but I just feel out of it like its really hard for me to be around people cause I feel like I have nothing to contribute to the conversation ya know. unless its like "did you see Ellen today, or did you catch the new show on bravo" ya that's about the extent of me right now. I guess I feel like I've always been pretty talkative and full of things to say but I just feel a little blank and boring right now. I know its just getting back into the swing of things but I'm not quite sure how to do that. I keep saying I need to get back into normal life but I guess I really don't know what that is here. I am so thankful that my mom has been coming down to keep me company. It has allowed me to have a bit of relief during the day and get out here and there to run errands. I'm still figuring out my days with Olive and how to get a shower and eat food. Everyday is easier but its still a lot of work but its definitely getting to be more fun since she is awake more of the day and laughs and plays. I want to start taking her on a long walk everyday and exercise cause I have these 10 extra pounds that are not going anywhere and being squishy is just gross. On a happy nipple note I feel pretty good today and not in too much pain!

Hello week 7
Olive is taking a nap so I had time to make lunch, do laundry, and catch up on the blog. Saturday we ran around and did some errands. Olive was so good the whole time! Sunday was pretty lazy and we didn't leave during the day. My friend Tamar came down at night and we all went to dinner. Her and Blake are on a photoshoot today so she spent the night. Olive was really good and didn't make any noise last night! She is starting to sleep a bit more at night. She can usually go about 5 hours. I'm hoping she will go a bit longer but I'll take what I can get now. She is going down to bed so much easier now. I rarely have to do anything but turn on the white noise and swaddle her. Yay! According to a graph in the happiest baby on the block this is going to be the worst week for her as far as being cranky but lets hope not. Starting to take her out of the house a little more but still being pretty cautious till she gets her shot next week. The weather has gotten cool so I know cold and flu season will be here soon so I want to be careful. I actually feel like I have a bit of ick but I'm hoping its just allergies. I took so much crap with thrush that I'm hoping my body doesn't fight back and make me sick. I have the most awful immune system. I think the thrush is on its way out. Breastfeeding is finally more comfortable and almost pain free. She still has a diaper rash from the thrush which makes me think its still kinda there. I'm keeping her on her meds a few more days then I'm going to see where we are but I do feel much better.
I see hungry head from Olive so its time to go.

6 weeks
I went to my official 6 week check up today and got the go ahead to resume normal life but lets be honest here I can't imagine ever using a tampon again. Nothing is sore or anything, I actually feel 100% normal but when I think about what went on down there it makes me sorta cringe. I dunno I'm sure in time that will change. I'm just really excited to start working out again. I have 10 more pounds till I'm back to my normal weight (but I'm hoping to drop 15). I really really want to join kickboxing but I don't see how I would do that with Olive since it would be something I want to do a few times a week but we'll see. I'm hoping once I get on more of a schedule with feedings I can make time to run at the beach with her or at least around the hood.
On a fun note I had my first beer since I found out I was pregnant and it was delicious! My mom watched Olive while Blake and I went to a bar and got dinner and a drink. I know were so wild. One whole beer! I'm hoping that we can start getting out more cause it was nice. Still getting comfortable with pumping and that whole deal. Still dealing with thrush so I'm not keeping milk which is a total nightmare.

How cute are these Toms. Gift from Melinda, Ashleys mom. I'm jealous, I want a pair!
